Bush, Duke, and Changing Faces

Please Mr. President--GET SOME HELP
I heard some of the President's address to the Naval Academy in his quest to gin up support for the effort to fight terrorism in Iraq, instead of here.
I've met George Bush, and I can tell you the guy has given thousands of speeches around the world and he isn't getting any better.
He needs a speech therapist, and I'm ready to help.
First, Mr. President, do you have an emotional bone in your body? YES, you do. Why don't you let that emotion come through when you speak in a public place. Stop the monotone droning that you and your father are so famous for.
You need to express more and read less. Get in touch with those feelings and begin to express those feelings more and you will be in better shape with the public. We need someone to lead and they need to exhort us to accomplish great things, we need a cheerleader and we need it NOW.
Just for grins, go and get all the speeches of President Ronald Reagan from the Library and watch them some weekend at Camp David. Present emotions and feelings like Reagan, and PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE by giving shorter and better speeches and you CAN change. If you continue to do what you are doing your poll numbers won't get better. But you haven't really cared about poll numbers anyway.
Duke Quits
Congressman Randy Duke Cunningham has resigned caught up in a bribery scheme.
Democrats are licking their chops saying it's part of the culture of corruption. There are bad apples everywhere. I have a riend who explained he knew Duke from back in Missouri, and he was a showoff back when he was a pilot in Viet Nam. While he accomplished good things in congress, this doesn't help anyone in government because it makes them all look bad. The truth is for every bad congressman and corrupt or just plain stupid public official there are hundreds of others and thousands of public employees who work for us that are the greatest people in the world.
Thanks Duke, you tear my heart out.
Changing Faces
The good news is that French doctors have replaced part of a face of a woman. The bad news is it wasn't Hillary. Too tough? Sorry Hill.
Sadly the face of the media hasn't changed, they are linking the Duke story with the Scooter Libby story. I made a comment how the Libby story was about gossip and the federal prosecutor is now saying that's indictable to gossip with a reporter and not remember it the way the reporter remembered things. Yeah, it's that bad.
Here's the deal, what Bill Clinton did with Monica was worse. That's because what Bill did endangered national security. Could Bill have been forced by blackmail to do something under the threat of letting the media know about his "indiscretions". You bet it would have. In fact, if Osama bin Laden had known about the things BC did in the Oval Office, he could have told the president that if he came after terrorists, then they would destroy the United State's by having the media get the story about his Monica activities. If it had been a Republican, the media would have had a different reaction you know--just the facts that liberals find hard to swallow.
It could have, and may have been discussed in the White House or CIA and FBI, we'll never know. But the bottom line is that what Bill Clinton did wasn't about sex, it was about endangering national security interests because he couldn't keep his zipper up.

Peanut Kill:Time for a Waiting Period

This is an incredible story that all should read, and think about the dangers if the liberals get a chance to implement a 5 day waiting period for peanut butter or a package of nuts.

CTV.ca News Staff Updated: Sat. Nov. 26 2005 4:53 PM ET
A Quebec teenager with a peanut allergy has died after kissing her boyfriend who had eaten a peanut butter sandwich hours earlier.
Fifteen-year-old Christina Desforges died Monday. She went into anaphylactic shock and in spite of being given an adrenalin shot, could not be revived.
Desforges lived 250 km north of Quebec City in Saguenay.
The official cause of the teen's death has not yet been released.
Pediatric allergist Karen Sigman told CTV's Tania Krywiak if peanuts are still on the tongue or the lips, they can still cause a reaction.
Sigman says teenagers with allergies have to let their friends know.
"If they're going to be dating somebody that they have to tell the people they're close to that they're allergic to make sure the people they're with aren't in contact with those nuts or peanuts," Sigman said.
Parents of children with nut and peanut allergies have the added pressure of constantly watching what their offspring are eating.
Terri Elituv, mother of 12-year-old Jake Elituv, told CTV News they always watch out for snacks that include peanuts, or traces of the legume.
"Everything is just sort of fraught with this underlying tension, you're anxious about what he's going to have, what he could touch," she said.
Elituv's other concern is what happens when her son becomes more independent in his teen years -- and might not share his allergy concerns with friends at parties.
Desforges' parents are planning a memorial service Saturday.
If you're reading, I'd love your thoughts.

There They Go Again....

Okay, I watched the Sunday shows, and look at the thinkgs they are saying now. After they were so disappointed that Karl Rove wasn't indicted by the grand jury, and now, they are so concerned about Bob Woodward who didn't tell them he knew something they didn't, they are now trying to figure out a way to buldoze Presidetn Bush to remove the troops from Iraq.
Did they forget the 3,000 lives lost in the World Trade Center? Do they think if we leave that will somehow stop the terrorist acts? Or will Iraq become a training ground again for terrorists and the oil profits can be used to help terrorists around the world?
No one wants to send troops to a foreign land, and I know you're saying that Saddam Hussein never attacked us, and you have a picture of Donald Rumsfeld with Saddam taken years ago and claim he was an allie. Well, he was an allie, he stalled the Iranian expansion into the middle east by fighting the Iraqis. That effort perhaps stopped Osama bin Laden from becoming powerful before the 1990's, who knows.
If that national media is looking for a great story---thousands of deaths after another terrorist attack---then they wil have it if they force the President to pull troops out of Iraq.
I would rather fight terrorists in Tikrit, than Texas. And what we don't know has happened over the past few years because our secret agents have stopped the attack should perhaps be leaked to the media. Oh, but then Tim Russert and the others would complain that we didn't know about the attacke before and blame the administration again.
It's a sad and dramatic change and it's perhaps time for people to begin to wonder if the Main Stream Media even knows what the words "national security" and "patriotism" means.
Is that too strong?

Media Bias-Real or Imagined?

So, what do you think of this story from the news recently in Oklahoma?
Email me your thoughts, and I'll explain my perspective at the end of the story.

NO WORD ON POSSIBLE CHARGES YET FOR TILLMAN COUNTY SHERIFFTuesday, November 15, 2005
The Assistant District Attorney in Jefferson County expects to make a decision Wednesday on what charges, if any, the Tillman County Sheriff will face. Special Prosecutor Dennis Gay said tonight he is having a hard time getting over to Tillman County, though, because of his court schedule.Because of that, he says it is possible a decision won`t be made until Friday. Sheriff Billy Hanes is accused of assaulting a 15-year-old Frederick boy who may have been somehow involved with Hanes` daughter.

So, what was my problem? I'm trying to find the political affiliation Sheriff Billy Hanes. I'll bet he's a democrat, but that party affiliation wasn't even mentioned in the story. But you can bet if Hanes was a Republican, this story would have made the national media in a second.
Want to bet?

GM Sad News - Greater Economic Development Effort Needed

So, General Motors says it's going to shut down the Oklahoma City Plant?
Terrible news. But why is it happening?
Oklahoma is located smack dab in the middle of the US. We should have companies breaking down the door to want to build andmake stuff here and ship it anywhere in the US or into Canada or Mexico. Why aren't they here?
You can say it's a problem with the international car markets, and the unions are causing $1,400 a car price disadvantage to fund health care and retirement benefits.
The truth is that the Big Three US Auto Makers, Ford, GM and Chrysler are all suffering from problems with a changing market.
Could this restructuring be the best things that ever happened to the B-3? The restructuring in Japan made big changes in those car makers, now they are back on top after a slump in sales in the late 90's.
Don't count our B-# out, just yet. This restructuring could be terrible in the short run, but it could mean that real reform in health care and retirement systems will pass in the congress to change this into a blessing in disguise.
I hope it does, because everyone wants a strong economy.
My prayers go out to everyone, the company workers, their families, friends and other businesses that are impacted by this terrible news, it's my prayer that this devastating news brings a rebirth to the competitive nature of the domestic car makers. If there is any country that can benefit from adversity, it is our spirit and grit that makes us stronger in the long run.
For starters, it's time to fix our workers compensation system, end the state income tax, and try new options in medical care and retirement plans so we can compete in the market place and encourage more businesses to locate in our great state and employ more Oklahomans.
Let's not sit on our hands--let's get the legislature in special session to address these issues now and start an economic rebirth in Oklahoma.

FUEL PRICES A BARGAIN
So, have you thanked anyone lately for your gasoline prices dropping 30 percent?
You should. And aren't we glad that we didn't hastily create some new layer of government to control fuel prices and think that somehow the government was responsible for the price drop.

IS PARIS BURNING?
It's hard to believe that Paris and some 20 cities and towns are being attacked by middle eastern muslim terrorists and the media isn't giving it 24 hour coverage.
These folks are from middle eastern descent for the most part and they are coordinating their attacks using the Internet.
Has the French Government become so fearful of the muslims that they will let their country be destroyed by the extremists? Maybe. Remember a couple of years ago when the big fight in France was about muslim scarves on young girls. The French government surrendered, something they have lots of practice at doing, and they gave up.
So now, muslims are creating havoc. The French can't fight back, because they have accomodated the muslims. Sadly those muslim extremists are causing the problems but all muslims will get blamed for this.
Is it curious that similar muslim activities haven't happened in other major cities.........yet?
Wait for it. If you think governments in europe aren't worried about this and in other locales around the world, you probably don't remember 9/11.

LOTTERY COMING!!!!
November 10th, Oklahoma starts the big money powerball lottery.
I think I'll wait until I get a chance at at least $10 million before I play. I'd hate to think the one chance at winning the lottery would be a victory and I'd win $10,000.

PONY CLUB RETURNS TO MIDWEST CITY
A big event in Midwest City over the weekend. The members of the Midwest City Pony Club got together for a 50th anniversary. These are kids who were given a pony when their parents bought a house in Ridgecrest. Wow, a pony, and a place to put it.
I was on the pony track and was steered around as I imagined I was Little Joe Cartwright or Palladin, wearing my toy guns, hat and gun belt.
What memories they were. And still are.

Sunday Shows

It's apparent that the popularity of President Bush at 39 percent approval will be the topic of the Sunday News Shows.
And the will use the incident of "Scooter" Libby and the indictments as the biggest facton in this slide. After all, the president talked about changing the morals of the White House and this happened.
So you're comparing someones recollection of events and being charged with purjury because he REMEMBERED WRONG, and was indicted for what? A bad memory. Now let's compare that to Bill Clinton's "indescretions" and purjury.
Gossiping with reporters and not remembering it the way other remember events isn't a crime, it's a difference of opinion.
What Clinton did WAS a real national security risk. What do you think Clinton would have done to help the Israelis of the Palestinians or even the Russians if they knew about his little sexcapade of pocket rocket syndrome and threatened to make it public unless they went along with their plans for money or arms or anything else.
Let's see, a president controlled by foreign leaders because he couldn't keep his zipper up and his temptations in check and lying about what the word "sex" means?
Not that Clinton wouldn't be fun to spend a weekend with, but this incident was enough to tank his presidency because he had no morals and could be manipulated to go against the best interests of our country.
Libby's recollections aren't an indictable offense. If everyone was indicted because of not remembering things the way someone else remembered things, the courts would be clogged with perjury cases.
It just goes to show you, grand juries are the most dangerous meetings in our democracy.
Thanks for reading.
I'm going to be filling in on SuperTalk 930 WKY from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday, November 7th, if you get a chance, listen, and if you want to call, the number is 460-talk---460-8255.
